Ideas of charitable donations

I learned the following information on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It is a bone marrow cancer that causes the death of over 50,000 people in the US each year. Every 10 minutes, someone dies from blood cancer – nearly 146 people every day. There are a lot of ways to support the Society. They sponsor Team in Training in which individuals train to do things such as ride a bike for 100 miles and ask people to sponsor them financially. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society holds hundreds of fundraising events annually, from our signature Team In Training® and Light The Night® Walk, School & YouthSM Programs, The Leukemia Cup Regatta, and Man & Woman of the Year , to numerous golf tournaments and gala dinners. Whatever your interest, there's a way for you to get involved, have fun and accelerate cures. The School Youth Program collects pennies or loose change for about three weeks and Olive Garden has a program which rewards the class that makes this most money with a pasta party. All of the money goes to support a local patient. I think that we should find out if there is someone in our community who has Leukemia or Lymphoma and use the money from our event to help them.
